Gifts through wills, known as bequests, are one of the easiest ways to make a planned gift to the College. Simply –

  • Ask your estate planning attorney to add this suggested wording to your will or living trust:
“I give to the American College of Surgeons, Chicago, Ill., (the sum of $--- or --- percent of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate) for its general purposes.”
  • Next, notify the American College of Surgeons Foundation to ensure that your intentions as a benefactor are confirmed and recognized, or if you prefer, kept anonymous.

Supporting the American College of Surgeons' research and educational programs through your financial contributions is one of the best ways to make a lasting mark on the profession. You can choose from a number of funds:  Sustaining Fund, Cancer Programs, Trauma Programs, Scholarship & Fellowships, Surgical Research and Operation Giving Back.  It’s your gift and your choice to how you’d like your donation to be used.

The ACS Foundation offers you many options for giving: individual gifts, membership in the Fellows Leadership Society, and a wide range of planned giving options. The size of your gift, of course, is your choice. The most important factor is your willingness to help ensure the future of surgery.

All gifts to the American College of Surgeons Foundation are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

If you are not a Fellow of the College and would like to make a donation, you have two options:

  1. Use the “Make a Contribution Online” link below and create an account to donate online.
  2. Contact the ACS Foundation to make your donation by calling 312-202-5139.

Thank you for your support!
