The Journal of the American College of Surgeons (JACS) is the official scientific publication of the American College of Surgeons. Formerly Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics (1905-1994), JACS has the goal of providing its readership the highest quality rapid retrieval of information relevant to surgeons.

JACS is a monthly peer-reviewed journal publishing original contributions on all aspects of surgery. These contributions include original scientific articles, collective reviews, experimental investigations with clear clinical relevance, and a surgeon-at-work section (online only). JACS is a membership benefit for all active ACS Fellows. Retirees and medical students have access to JACS online at http://www.journalacs.org.
